At Wesley Grove UMC the beginning of summer means it’s time for our Strawberry Festival! It has been a tradition at our church since the mid-1970’s and we invite the whole community to come together to enjoy food, music, games, and shopping — rain or shine!
Admission and parking is free, however, all proceeds raised go to support our various ongoing church projects.
Here’s what you can expect to see at our Strawberry Festival the first Saturday of June:
- Homemade Food
- Crab cakes
- Pit Ham
- Italian Sausages
- Green beans
- Homemade Baked Goods
- Strawberry Pies
- Strawberry Shortcake
- Cookies, brownies, and more sweet treats!
- Yard Sale tables
- Direct Sale vendors
- Local produce – strawberries, flowers, and vegetable plants
- Additional Activities (varies year to year)
- Music from The Benfield Brass band
- Children games
- Moon Bounce
- Face painting
- Snow Cone truck
The days leading up to the event are spent preparing the grounds and preparing all of the food. Our men, women, and scouts assist with picking crab meat for our crab cakes, cutting up pounds of strawberries for our various desserts, chopping up veggies for our coleslaw, and setting up all the tables and tents. The time and effort spent are well worth it as we get to share our love of Christ with friendly faces from near and far.
Our festival this year will be held on Saturday June 3rd from 8 am – 2 pm. We hope you, your friends, and family can join us for a wonderful time!
